Karim : Commonwealth Secretary General
John Makkinan has said that it should be withdraw of Emergency situation and
forbidden of political activity without unnecessary waste of time. Three days visit in Bangladesh and
in the last, he was said in a crowded news conference at Sonargaon Hotel.
He
was has said more that for a smooth election, the Govt. Taken time should not be longer. If there is
to be taken more time than the needed, the Govt. shall be lost of the public
support. He also said that for active of the National Parliament, for to
arrange of an acceptable election and after made a road map, it should be fixed
up a time. He has also expressed of his opinion that it should start fast for
to make voter list.
The Commonwealth
Secretary General has said that he had been told with different political party
including the Chief Adviser and the Election Commission. The present Govt. has
been working with popularity after earned a confidence of the peoples. But just
this time as there is none of National Parliament in Bangladesh, as such, there is no
place for to express of the public opinions. There is essentially needed of
this place for to remaining of the basic right of the peoples. If there is
continued of this situation, there may be changed of the public attention,
support and faith, he also made such of opinion. During the period of two terms
Secretary General and describing the visit of Bangladesh
in before, he has said that as the nation, Bangladesh is remaining in a
complex and abnormal situation. There has been involved a superior
responsibility in front of the present Govt. for to give of the new shape and
design of democracy. To perform of this responsibility, there is needed of the eagerness
and support of the people.
He does think that
the public confidence will be increased through the photo attached voter list.
There should be arranged in very fast for election at immediate after finished
of the new voter list. But there is none
of cause but to extend of the emergency situation saying the fact of the voter
list.
He
has said that it should immediate to be started of the democracy and as such he
has been received message from the public. Humanity of the country people, well
administration, active parliament, feed of the judgement division, all are
depending on the election.

Makkinan was said that all of the political parties should do over all help to
the Election Commission for to preparing of new voter list. As the part of the
Globalization, the peoples want to do exercise democracy and clearness. Due to
obstinate and narrow politics, Bangladesh
were going back. He was said for to the progress of the country, would be
through be before the person or the party.
The
Secretary General has said he had been told clearly to the Chief Adviser that
Commonwealth is a faithful friend of Bangladesh. John Makkinan also
expressed of his promise that the Commonwealth is ready to make any kind of
assistance to the construction of democracy and to make an institution of it
In reply to one of
the question, the secretary general has told this Govt. would be lost of public
support if they had been any willing to hand over of the power. In reply of one
of other question he was said that the experts could be said for what amount of
time would be need to make photo attached voter list.
In reply to a
question about comparing the military administration of Pakistan with Bangladesh that the Political
Culture is not same style. Here the caretaker Govt. has been come to the power
with popularity. There was taken his attention to the death of a aborigines for

made sureness about the violation of human right in any stage.
In the
banking sector of the country and as per the proposal of the World Bank and
IMF, to make non-governmental, he has expressed it as an example basis.
Makkinan has said that it is hard reality that the Grameen Bank does lend money
and takes interest in high rate, but the Govt. bank is making loss for all the
times.
